- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪Dr. Phillips is an extremely personable man. However, he is not eager to help you succeed in an unmedicated birth. If you would like a natural birth, do not see him. I was successful in birthing my child without medication, but he was not present at the birth and at my 6 week postpartum appt, he seemed stunned that i was successful. He then told my husband and i that his wife attempted to birth naturally but failed. That seems to have left an impression on his mind--that women can't birth without drugs.. At all my appointments he seemed patronizing to my attempts to bring my child into the world the safest way possible- without narcotics typically used at birth.
